SULLIVAN – Head coach Jason Merkel breathed a sigh of relief Tuesday (Jan 19) night when the Sullivan Lady Eagles ended their three game losing streak at home with a 58-41 victory over the Seckman Jaguars.Seckman led early in the contest 12-6 before the Lady Eagles charged back and took a commanding 26-16 lead.The Eagles extended the lead to 20 points at times during the second half before winning by 17.“We finally put everything together and played the way we can,” said Merkel.“We really struggled in the games against Borgia and Washington but I was really happy with our performance tonight.”Carissa Richardson led the Lady Eagles with 21 points while Jett Bouckaert scored 11.Hallie Davis added nine points and Chelsea Strauser contributed seven.The Eagles record improved to 6-8 overall.On Thursday (Jan 21) they will travel to Hermann to resume Four Rivers Conference play with junior varsity play starting at 6 p.m.Sullivan will have their next home game on Monday (Jan 25) when they host Wellston.
