BOURBON - Police say that a Sullivan teen was legally drunk early Saturday morning when he sideswiped a car on Highway N south of town. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Morgan Tucker, 19, of Sullivan was northbound on Hwy. N at about 6:30 a.m. when his 1993 Plymouth Laser failed to properly stay in the lane of travel, crossed the center line and smacked into a southbound 1998 Ford Escort driven by Tyler Hunter, 22, of Bourbon. After the initial contact, the State Patrol reports, Hunter's vehicle went off the road and hit a sign before coming to rest. Tucker's Plymouth came to a halt in the middle of the highway. Hunter wasn't injured and Tucker refused treatment at the scene. However, the Patrol arrested Tucker for DWI and careless and imprudent driving resulting in an accident. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the Saturday morning mishap south of Bourbon, a community of about 900 in northeast Crawford County.
