SULLIVAN - City Code Administrator Dan King met Wednesday afternoon with area contractors to informally discuss problems and grievances that builders have with a variety of building codes. More than an hour after the meeting began, the overall opinion was that the meeting was a positive step forward and should be conducted on a regular basis.

SULLIVAN - A new driving experience in Sullivan is about to begin on Wednesday with the dropping of barricades at Park and Springfield and Park and the south outer road. That's right: the big squiggle in the south outer road at Park Street is about to make sense as traffic is routed into the new sections of Highway 185. SULLIVAN - The Sullivan City Council met Tuesday, June 17 for a regularly scheduled meeting. Five of six aldermen were in attendance, with Jarrett Dace unable to attend. Several items were on the agenda, including the city's approval of a liquor-by-the-drink license for Schmidtville, a new restaurant slated to replace the now-closed Aldo's. Cultural grant issues, a band's request to play downtown, delinquent account collections, some fair issues and bid approvals also received attention.

SULLIVAN - The barricades are coming down and a new intersection is opening up at Park and Springfield streets. That's the word from City Hall and for area motorists, it probably isn't a moment too soon.
"We expect to have it open by the end of next week, weather permitting," said City Administrator Mark Falloon on Thursday (June 19). According to Falloon and the Missouri Department of Transportation, paving and..... |
